I need a desktop pc that can push 3d design software and games to the max on a 4k screen.

I was thinking of this setup:

gtx 970 strix x2

corsair vengance pro series 2400mhz 32gb

Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i7 i7-4790K CPU

Seagate ST1000DX001 3.5 inch 1TB Hybrid Internal Solid State Drive

Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W

Corsair Hydro Series H55 All-In-One Liquid Cooler for CPU

Zalman Z11 Plus Midi Tower Case

With the monitor and peripherals, this is going to sit arround the £2000 mark. If im going to fork out this much dosh, I need to make sure i get this right.

I've got a few of questions:

1) will all the above components work well (synergise) together?

2) should I fork out an extra £200 to get a better motherboard, or is the one i chose good enough for the setup (including sli gtx 970's)?

3) Is the water cooling necessary?

4) will the case work with what i have here?

Thanks :)

I have used several NZXT cases on my builds, and have always found them to be well worth the money. I would go with the Gigabyte board, it looks like that ASUS has been discontinued.

I would also up my SSD to the Samsung 850 EVO, it does cost a little more 96.97 pound, but you get a much better drive that will include the magician software to maximize the drive and be able to use a portion of your RAM to increase the performance even more.

Happy building!

It looks all good, but the video cards will be tight in that case. Your cards are 11", and the case maxes out at 11.4". I would keep the water cooling, and the motherboard is fine.

The one thing you really need to make this bad *ss, you have a M2 SSD connection on this motherboard and need to fill it or at least get a regular 2.5" SSD for your OS and programs. The Hybrid Seagates are okay, but do not come close to any SSD.
