re How to add an external antenna to the wifi router of inetrnal antenna. - will this work for a satellite router?

Solution
There won't be any connection point inside your existing router to connect an external antenna to, and if you tried soldering a connection the heat would kill the router.

A new wireless router with external antenna is the way to go if that's what you want.

It is going to greatly depend on how the device is manufactured. As stated above if you get to the point of having to solder on the main board you likely should not attempt it. A router used for a satellite connection tends to be a rather expensive piece of equipment to destroy accidentally.

There are some devices that use a fairly standard miniature snap in connector. In that case you can just unplug the antenna and substitute a different one that has the same cable connector. Even with ones soldered to the motherboard you might get lucky and the cable end on the antenna side is removable.

Still even if you can replace the antennas it will likely not make a huge difference. You will see some improvement in most cases but most problems inside a house are related to what the walls are made off more than the signals from the router. All the number you see that talk about improved signal levels and range of different antenna are made with the assumption of only air between you and the router. It would be really nice if there was someway to calculate the affect of a wall but there are way to many variables.

If you can just unplug the antenna from the board and buy some cheap ones it might be worth trying but I would not get my hopes too high.
