I bought a Corsair H100i CPU water cooler a few weeks ago for my 4790k, and ever since I installed it it's been producing a very noticeable buzz/hum.

After scouring the internet for answers, I've determined that the H100i is supposed to produce nothing more than a whisper. But from what I'm experiencing, I can hear a buzz from over a meter away!

A lot of forum posts are saying that when you have the two included fans connected to the pump head, it produces this noise, but I connected the fans directly to the motherboard like the suggestions said, and the pump continues to make the buzz!

Here some videos with the same noise as I am experiencing but a bit louder:

Is there any way I can stop this sound without doing an RMA? Any known fixes?

I have a Corsair Air 540 case and the H100i is on the latest firmware (1.0.7)

Okay, so turns out it's the stock fans that come with the H100i. They are apparently notoriously garbage and I can confirm this. Don't get me wrong, the case fans that come with the Corsair Air 540 are fantastic, but the H100i are INCREDIBLY lackluster and very noisy. If buying this cooler, I highly recommend picking up two 120mm fans to replace the stock ones.

Gonna have to deal with it until I order myself some nice Noctua fans.
