Is my psu enough for 2-way crossfire gigabyte r9 290x?

Right now I am using a thermaltake toughpower 850 watt psu, intel core i5 4690k, 1tb wd blue and a dvd drive. of course, this along with one gigabyte r9 290x windforce card.

Yes it is enough because r9 290x tdp is 290W but make sure your psu is 80+ certified and your case has good airflow.Oh and make sure your motherboard is Crossfire capable.
 
Ehh, 2 290xs uses 600 watts, but your other system may use about 150-200 watts. Usually when dealing with AMD cards, I recommend atleast a 1000 watt PSU, unless your doing dual 280s, in which the PSU would be fine.


Also to take note of, your PSU quality is pretty bad, and i would recommend you change brands.

yea, can i ask why 1200w?

I understand that Gigabyte recommended 600W for one r9 290x card but that is for entire system so i don't think 600W x2 is needed right?
