Hello,

I am currently running a FX-8350 set-up, and thinking of switching to Intel.

Is Intel releasing a new generation of Core processors this year?

Is it worthwhile to wait and upgrade to that instead of the current gen Core processors?

Thanks

Intel is in the process of releasing Broadwell, the first products arrived late last year. Desktop CPUs should arrive by summer. They will apparently also launch Skylake this year.

Broadwell is just a shrink of Haswell, so very similar feature set and the same chipsets.

Skylake is a new microarchitecture, and apparently will support both DDR3 and DDR4 memory (but you'll probably have to pick one or the other when you buy the motherboard).

DDR4 is not worth waiting for, it's basically an irrelevant upgrade for consumer desktop PCs. Just get DDR4 once it's cheaper than DDR3, or once your chosen platform doesn't support DDR3.
