Hello,

having issues with my Wifi and not sure what the cause is.

My Computer and Adapter is in my room (upstairs)

Average Speeds: 30mb/s Download. 2.5mb/s Upload.

but most days im seeing major lag spikes dropping me to around 3mb/s Download..sometimes less. Making the games i play online completely unplayable for 20/30 seconds which is a massive issue!.

Speed test 1: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4144425356
Speed test 2: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4144436048 (5 mins later)
Speed test 3: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4144439365 (2 mins later)

My Router (room underneath my room) has faster speeds on the ethernet

Average Speeds: 65mb/s Download. 5mb/s Upload.

So I've proved its capable the majority of the time being very quick in my room considering and it didnt used to have major lag spikes only in the last few weeks.

What causes these spikes?

My parents are going to ring my ISP to have a word with them later today but i thought i might aswell ask here first to see if anyone knows what causes problems like these

Thankyou.

Solution
Try changing the channel on which you router WIFI is using. There may be interferace from another router near by, that solves a lot of issues.
