I am receiving "cannot find boot file" error on Gateway Windows 8.1 laptop. Tried F10 and every other keystroke sequence, but cannot get to the backup partition on the hard drive, where the Windows restore files are. I need a bootable CD/DVD that I can use to try to repair and reinstall Windows.
My other idea is to try a disk repair software (e.g. Norton Utilities). Does anyone know if Norton. or other disk repair software, is available as a bootable disk?
