I have some wierd nubmers with my RAM - I bought "Crucial Ballistix ST DDR3-1866 DC - 8GB", but CPU-Z shows that it's only operating at 666.5 Mhz DRAM frequency, at CR 1T.

Tried to follow this thread for getting the right nubmers:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/278014-30-where-check-system-speed
but i'm never getting to 1866. which the sticks should run at.

-Did I do something wrong in the setup of these? (just plugd-n played) Or is it just my calculations?

The numbers i get:
NB Frequency - keeps jumping between a few key rates al the way from ~500 Mhz to 3999.1. I guess this is normal?
DRAM Frequency 666.5: Mhz
FSB: DRAM: 1:5
CL: 9
tRDC: 9
tRP: 9
tRAS: 24
tRFC: 107
CR: 1T

sorry for no reply. I ran a memtest86 with no errors and this benchmark:

I updated my gigabyte gaming-5 BIOS to F5 (the newest before beta) and while I did it, I noticed the BIOS menu also flagged the RAM as operating at 1333:

btw i want to add the reason for my investigation comes from a result of what i think might be a memory leak - With the mentioned 8gb ram, a 4790k, and a gtx 970, I'm (after 4-8 hours of usage) noticing memory problems, and the usage is almost at 100% when only running battlefield 4 and ~10 tabs chrome.
-Running the exact same applications have different memory results depending on how long my desktop was turned on.

-i don't know if this is related to the "wrong" numbers of my RAM blocks.

Thank you - I kinda figured out this would be the way to do it, but i don't understand why this is not the default setup? wierd that i have to "overclock" it to its intended standard settings. :??::pt1cable:

You are not really ocerclocking per se. what it is is that Jedec doesn't list that speed so the only way to get it to that speed is using xmp profiles. but really xmp profiles often have settings for more than 1 speed usually 3-5 speeds
