well first of all hi guys im new. im expert but I know the basics of computer hardware and software... I used to game on a crappy dual core 1.65 ghz laptop. i a 1g vram gtx 560 ti( I know its old but it was a good deal and I could not have bought a newer card for that price-performance ratio)... for the cpu I use an fx 6300 six core... for cooling I use stock cooler, and a cheap case fan... psu is 500 watt stock cooler that came with pc case. Well only have 4 gigs of ram... If I upgrade to 8 will it help that much???? I run watch dogs at about 40 fps average(checked with fraps fps meter)... If I upgrade to 8 will it help a lot? also is 8 gigs of ram a balanced amount with 1 gig vram? BTW if I upgrade it cant be now because I have to sell my aquarium(my old hobby) Also do you think I have an overall balanced system? Aso how esily do componets break? should my pc last a while? I know i don't have the latest and greatest parts but i am not made of money...(im only 14 and my dad bought me the parts for chrismas and we built it) sorry for the typos when i made the threadwhen i tried to edit it erased the words in front and i cant really fix it sorry. also I had to but my gpu sepretly because my dad dosnt know much about gaming and he thought integrated gpu would be fine lol. not his fault... lol

Solution
A card with 1GB of RAM will comfortably run up to a single monitor at 1920 X 1080 resolution. A single monitor at 1680 x 1050 will be absolutely fine for a 1GB card.
your rig be good for the next few years if runs games and application with proper settings .
the 560 ti is a Good dinosaur ............... ( similar performance on amd r7 260x ... )

If your wanting high FPS on higher settings and resolution at 1080P then you need at least 2gb of Vram, most games want 3-4gb for high settings. 4gb of Ram will work but you need to keep everything closed but what absolutely has to be run. As far as Fraps is concerned have it save to a 2nd drive or even a USB thumb drive preferable USB 3.0, if your Frapsing off the same drive it will slow you down a significant amount.

Yes 4gb of ram is holding you back. Have you tried opening taask manager when watchdogs is running? I'm sure it eats more than 4gb to what i remember.
You should also look at a new gpu if you wanted higher fps, Nothing to break the bank, I have a MSI R9 270 running watchdogs on high at 60fps.
Maybe look at the GTX 750Ti for around £100 or take a chance on ebay. Your cpu will be fine for a few years imo.
Hope this helps

I don't use fraps to record just to get fps readings..I do keep everything closed and game at 720p on some games and on some 1650x1050... Im broke right now and cant afford a new gpu. I also just got the gpu to replace my gtx 650 i don't think my parents would be keen on the idea of a third gpu. Also does the games graphic settings affect vram much? i know resolution does but i don't care about resolution and game at 720p... I really care about graphic settings the most. I only game at 1650x1050 if can already run the game maxed out at good frame rates... So do graphic settings affect vram as much as resolution? will my 1 gig 560 ti be fine at 720 p for a few years? Also do you think my system has balanced components? Thank you very much!

if im going to upgrade it will have to be worthwile. I would not think a 750 ti would be any better that a 560 ti. I would think it would be about even, or worse that my 560 ti. even if i did get a 2 gig 750 ti i would not warent a lot of money for a small upgrade. I may be able to get more ram soon though, would having more ram help a good amount if i only have 1 gb vram? I also just bought the 560 ti and its really doing a lot better than my 650. Also would having more ram help my vram and add to it? i know using ram and vram is slower but would it work?

The first item to inspect is the PSU . what is the brand ?
if the psu break all other components may take damages.
if the pc was mine i change the PSU
and then buy another 4 gb ram.

I would think the psu would be Thermaltake because the case that came with the psu is Thermaltake. Also my gpu is way better than 460(560 ti) so that's good I think I might upgrade my ram after i get some money. Also do you think my system has balanced components? if I upgrade my ram will that be unbalanced with 1 gig vram?

your pc is balanced
1 gb ram gpu is good until your graphic setting are not demanding (using ultra details/texture and over full hd resolution)
another question is what is the monitor resolution ?

my monitor supports up to 1650x1050 but on harder to run games like watch dogs I turn the res down to 720p. btw does resolution or graphic settings affect vram more? i rather run a game on ultra 720p and high or medium and 1680x1050. Also will my rig be good for the next few years? is the 560 ti a dinosaur yet? i really want this rig to last a while...

Very over bloated specs. 4gb Vram as a minimum when only a few cards they recommend meets minimum specs. People are playing this game fine on 2gb Vram equip laptops.
