Hello, I was thinking about changing out my cpu cooler and was wondering if anyone knew how to remove a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, the main problem is the thermal paste that is attached to the cpu and heat sync, anyone know how to remove it or have a good video?

Thanks in advance Matt.

Solution
to remove it use some alcohol and simply wipe it off the cpu and heatsink. nothing special about it really. a soft, lint free cloth and the rubbing alcohol will do the trick. i have seen some suggest mail polish remover and though i have never used it, it would also work fine and won't damage anything.

to rmove the heatsink itself, simply wiggle the cooler side to side and pull it off. a small suction will have formed but it pops free pretty easily. the cpu is help down so it's not going anywhere.

so just wiggle it off? wow that seems much easier than I thought. Also with a cpu itself should I just wiggle it off as well, because I'm changing that as well.

the cpu will be held in by a bar on the side of the socket. you can't miss it. it will simply slide down and sideways to release the cpu. again, you will figure it out real quick when you see it. then giggle to yourself for thinking it would be hard to do :D
