I was getting the blue screen of death and i googled the error code which seemed to point to a bad sector in the hard drive. I decided to try restoring the computer to factory settings. It failed multiple times and the last time it sat for 4 hours with the loading bar not moving for the last hour. I was able to run to Wal-Mart and buy an installation disc of windows 7. When i got home the computer (hp g62) was still stuck where it was. I could not get it to exit safely back to the recovery options screen so i pushed down the power button to shut down the computer inorder to get back to the Windows recovery screen. I then pushed the power button, opened the cd drive, popped in the new windows install cd and closed it. The screen is now stuck on a black screen and no matter if i press f8, f12 or esc it won't take me to any other screen so i can install the disc. Im at a loss and i can't find ANY threads on google with a similar situation being the computer was shut down against the advised note saying not to. I didn't have a choice and now the screen is black! Oh yeah... and the caps lock is blinking every couple of seconds. Please help!!

The KB blink is your Error code. Have in mind that BSoD does not only indicates hdd error, it can be also memory error or many others. Count the short and long blinks and you should be able to find out whats exactly the problem. BTW if your HDD was giving out bad sectors it might be gone. Unless the KB error code indicates other problems just try by replacing the hdd
