Random Freezes In Games Running Fine Otherwise (60 fps and above)

It seems like a few games like to freeze up here and there for pretty much no reason, they are running above 60 fps, but still pose issues. The weirdest part is battlefield 3 running at 40 fps runs butter smooth, but games like cod 4, and far cry 3 running at a higher fps like to freeze up randomly, constantly (for the entire duration of playtime on and off), making them almost unplayable, Id like some help on tracking down the culprit.

I believe its all about overheating..It may be either the power supply or the graphics card. Freezing could be either drivers, or hardware. If it's the hardware, it could be overheating, or could just be faulty.
If your computer freezes only while playing games - or when certain things happen in games - it could be a video card issue or memory. It could also be your motherboard. It also depends how long these issues have been occurring. If this just started happening, and you didn't change out any hardware or install new software, than it's definitely a hardware issue.

On the side, I wholeheartedly recommend getting a better case with more fans. Or at least better hardware with cooling technologies. There's absolutely no reason...
