My motherboard only has a sata 3gb/s connector so i have a question, does a sata 3gb/s connectors have a max read and write speed of 300 mb/s. if so should I concentrate on higher IOPS?
Yes, SATA revision 2.0 has the native transfer rate 3 Gbit/s or 300 MB/s. You are not see big difference performance between sataII and sataIII in the real world usage. As long as you have sataII on the MB you are fine.
