need some help in fx 6300 overclock

using an fx 6300 unlocked on an asus m5a97 r2.0. ive seen some fx ocing tutorials. i overclocked it from 3.5 ghz to 4.0ghz.
i was targeting 4.5 ghz but when i try to reach 4.5 i get that black screen with '' overclocking failed press f1 to continue'' written in it. any idea why ?

It means you are not using enough voltage or your cpu has reached its limit.After oc'ing 0.2-1 ghz use prime 95 for few hours to check for stability.If still black screen after increasing voltage, Stop and use the 4.5 ghz and run prime 95 stress test for a few hours.If crashed roll down and repeat.

Remember that every chip is different from one another. Like what they say. its a lottery chip. Don't compare yours to others result.
I used same board with that cpu and was able to OC 4.4ghz with CM hyper 212x. with 1.38 vcore. But when i tried 4.5ghz, even with 1.42v it won't get stable.
What cooler are you using?
Try to up the vcore by small increments then run prime95 for about 30mins to check if its stable. If it pass up the clock then do the same process till you get the sweet spot

yeah try to start from 4.1 with voltage up by a bit. Make sure you turn off all power management features of your mobo. goodluck and enjoy overclocking
