can you install windows 7(64bit) to a pc directly from it's hard drive?

Can i install a clean copy of windows 7 directly from the hdd without using the optical drive or usb,note that i need a clean system install not recovery or update, if not, could you please tell me how to install using usb

Hey there, blakflag3!

Unfortunately, you cannot simply plug and play the operating system because it communicates with the motherboard of the computer, and the storage is just a carrier. You'd have to use a USB or a CD/DVD media device to install the operating system, otherwise I don't think that you'd be able to boot Windows at all.
