So im going to be building a pc and for the case i am looking at the NZXT H440. Little did I know that it had no optical drive in it. Would using an external optical drive be fine for installing Windows 8 on to a computer?
If you can then can you recommend me one?
If not then ill be looking at another case .

Solution
you dont need a dvd drive. i never have run one. an external dvd drive or even better a usb 3.0 flash drive. i got my 16gb flashdrive for 15 and i get very fast read speeds. faster than your dvd drive will get.

it installs much quicker this way. youc an even copy the install files over to your hdd and make it bootable and it will install directly just using your hdd.

that way works well too but you need to hook it to another pc
