So i just built my new pc, i have an 256gb SSD with has my Win7 OS on it. im using my 2TB HDD from my old pc, i plugged it all in and i can see it on my computer etc. but when i used the search function on start it is only looking in my SSD, so to run any of my programs i have to go and find the direct file..

another issue is with Steam, i try to run games and its acting like a first time run and it doesnt save any of my settings etc.. is it looking for them on the ssd too? as my HDD was the C: Drive on my last pc now its the E: Drive and the SSD is now my C: drive as i set it up first..

what should i do? set my HDD as the primary if i can? how do i make my 2TB HDD get searched and function like my old pc etc.

Hey there, DMStratz!

Is your HDD detected in Disk Management ( http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/disk-management-windows-7.htm )?
If you do see it there, can you please share the status of the drive and how it appears?
If you don't, I'd suggest to try re-seating the cables to the HDD and make sure that the SSD is plugged in the first available SATA port and the HDD is plugged right next to that one. If Windows detects the drive properly, the search function should pick it up.
As for the steam games and setting when having two storage devices and you want to move the installation and default location, I'd suggest to turn to Steam's KB here: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7418-YUBN-8129

Keep me posted! Hope this helps! :)
