Are Cat6 patch cables better than Cat5e patch cables for POE IP cameras or does it not make any difference?

Solution
Shield Twisted Pairs vs Unshielded Twisted Pairs. Same wire thickness so there would be no difference in power.

Depends on the bandwidth you need and the length of the cable. I don't imagine an IP camera using up a whole 1 Gbps connection, so having Cat6 shouldn't make a difference.

Though these days I'm not sure why you wouldn't buy cat6.

Solution
The speed is controlled by the end devices not the cable so the speed is exactly the same they will run 1g if your cameras can run 1g. Both are also speced to run 802.3at providing 25 watts of power to 100m. Now which is cheaper is going to be supply and demand so get whatever is cheaper

Just be very sure to get tia/eia there has been a lot of the CCA cable on the market calling itself cat5e and even cat6. This cable has issues passing data but it has even more issue passing PoE at the correct levels.
