i have a i5 4670k overclocked to 4.2GHz at 1.3v. And i have a h80i. at idle my temps are around 40 degrees Celsius. And at load its around 70 degrees celsius. Is 40 degrees Celsius to high for idle temps? is 70 degrees celsius while playing games to high?

here is my build https://pcpartpicker.com/b/nHsJ7P

Seems a little high to me. What is your average ambient temp? My 4670K (under a 212 EVO) idles @ 28C and might hit 60C under load (not stab testing). If you don't have high ambient temps and assuming you've got sufficient case cooling, I would consider redoing your thermal paste and heatsink install.

Max TCase for the i5 4670K is 72.72°C, That's the max temp at the heatspreader and the temp reading you get from monitoring tools is core temp, the established benchmark for Haswell is a 5C difference so it should be fine if it's under 77.72C.

The numbers seem a bit high for a H80i (maybe you're running in quiet mode?), but not dangerous. Are you sure you need 1.3v to make that overclock? That seems a little high to me.

yeah, if i put it below 1.3v it is unstable. And I plugged the fans into the motherboard not the h80i. I have the asus maximus vii gene. I like asus fan profiles better then corsair link.

i don't now what my ambient temps are. The room is not that hot and i think i have pretty good air flow in my 350d . i have good cable management. i guess i'll try reapplying the thermal paste
