I found this SSD(http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/storage-ssd-bx100) on ncix because i was looking for a well priced SSD to upgrade my laptop. it's only $250(can) compared to others which are almost $100 more. What makes this SSD so cheap? is it less reliable?

They're good SSD's. They are Microns attempt at making SSD's as cheap as possible. I own the MX100 256GB (predecessor to the BX100), and I've had zero problems, and being from Micron, it'll probably last a looong time. While they aren't quite as fast as Samsung, it comes out to only a few seconds difference in real world performance.

$250 is a normal price range in Canada for a 480/512G SSD. compare prices at Canada Computers. BX100 is newer than MX100 and even though i don't have one, i wouldn't hesitate with it if that's what i was in the market for.
