this is my first build and have been doing tons of research and would still like more ideas. i want to play modern games with mid-high graphics and would like to watch movies througth netflix and stuff. the price does not include a monitor, keyboard, os just the computer itself

If you have a local microcenter you can do better, they also discount their motherboards if you buy a k series processor. Keep an eye out for open box video cards there too. I just bought a 780 for $270, a 970 for $290 and a 960 for $170. Most of the open box cards are returns under their awesome extended warranty program plan
