Everyone's already said what I was gonna say :/ Rockie's build is good if not overclocking. Only thing I'd change is the GPU to a Gigabyte G1 970 or MSI TwinFrozr 970 but that's preference I guess.

Yeah the backplate is nice, but like you said the gigabyte card is very long. I have 2 Windforce 290's in my rig and they are massive cards, ideally I would have wanted something smaller but I got a great deal on them. Basically comes down to personal preference

Thanks all, this is very helpful, one question - what would be a better MoBo ? the H97 or the Z97? ASRock or ASUS ? Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but this is my first build so I am still at the kindergarten level :)
