Hello Guys,

I recently found out that my dual monitor setup was causing my nvidia driver to crash when playing graphic intensive games.
When I play a game I only have it on my primary monitor ( usually in fullscreen ) and on my 2nd monitor I either have a browser open or nothing. However over the last few month I had various problem when during certain games I would get the error: the nvidia driver "driver version" has crashed and recovered. This would either crash the game or cause display bugs.
I had already reinstalled the newest nvidia driver.
Reinstalled the games
Changed my 2 SSDs from a raid to normal setup
Reinstalled windows.
Now when I tried to play Evolve today the game crashed after about 7 to 8 minutes I searched the internet for other solutions and found a suggestion on this site that the problem might be with the dual monitor setup.
So I disconnected 1 monitor and tada no more crashes. I played evolve for an hour and no issues.

So my question is: Am I missing any settings either in the nvidia system control or elsewhere so I can still have my 2nd monitor connected and the game just turns it off or anything else so I dont have to disconnect my 2nd monitor when playing graphic intensive games.

TLDR:
How to I get my 2nd monitor not to crash graphic intensive games.

Gfx card: Gainward Gefore GX 760
Memory: 8gb

nvm the dual monitor does not seem to have been the only cause or maybe not at all. The game is crashing again. I took a look at log files from GPU-Z and at the time of the crash the gpu load was at 99%, temp 68 celcius and fan at 69%. The game ran fine for 24 minutes this time before crashing. I will try the game in lower gfx settings to see what happens.
