Hello Community. This is what I just purchased from newegg:
CPU: i7-4790K
PSU: 850W EVGA SuperNova
Mobo: AsRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
Cooler: Corsair H100i
Ram: G.Skill Trident 16gb (2 x 8gb) DDR3 2400
HDD: WD Black Series 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB
All going in my existing HAF 932 Case
So as you can see I am getting pretty much everything with the exception of a video card. My thought process has basically been to wait and see what the R9 3XX ends up being like. Will HBM really be a giant difference and how will the latest technology perform. When it comes out if it doesn't end up performing up to par then it should at least drive prices down some more on the GTX 970.
What do you guys think? Pull the trigger on a R9 290x or a GTX 970 now? Or wait the 4-6 weeks that AMD is estimating to see what the R9 3xx series looks like and also to see if the price of the GTX 970 falls.
