After 3 days,i still cannot get my Asus K55A laptop to install windows, 8 or 7. I have changed the SATA to ACHI and still no luck. I tried using CHKDSK and it had no effect as it said my disk was write protected. I tried to install windows 7 today, however to no success as when i deleted all the partitions it still did not let me to install, instead comes up with Windows can't be installed on this drive. Please help, i really need it. Also, i am installing windows from a usb flash drive, i have also used disks but they always hang on the menus and i cant delete the files from them. Thanks in advance

I would recommend creating a Hirens Boot CD on different computer and utilize some of the options available to attempt to resolve your issue.

There are HDD diagnostics that you can run. I would recommend that or run the pre-installed diagnostics if Asus provided any.
With it reporting the drive as write protected and then it not showing when you are trying to install is indicative of a failure.
