Ok so i'm getting ready to build my 2nd gaming rig, my first was a budget rig and now i feel ready for the big stuff, so my specs to be will follow, so could you guys recommend how much power i will need to run this thing

CPU - Intel i7 5820k 3.30 ghz
GPU - EVGA Nvidia GeForce Gtx 980
MOBO - Gigabyte GA-x99-gaming 5 ddr4
RAM - Crucial ballistix sport 16gb (2x8gb) ddr4
CASE - Corsair Carbide series air flow
SSD - 512GB Corsair Force LX SATA 3

I will also be putting my 1tb samsung hdd in

I already have a be quiet pure power 700w power supply in my current pc, will this be enough?

Thanks - Revivalry

it will be enough, but going x99 with just one 980 doesnt make a-lot of sense. going z97 with a 4790k, and ddr3 will save you a-lot of money, which you can dump back on getting a better GPU setup like 2-way 970s or even 2 way-980s.

Why doesnt this make sense? also is the 5820k good for gaming? becuase theres not a lot of choice when it comes to ddr4. but why not go x99 for just one 980? wouldnt i be 'future-proofing' my pc by doing this?

you might be getting a better CPU, but those 2 cores wont really benefit you in gaming. if you get a SLIGHTLY slower CPU (like the 4790k), and saving a-lot of money by not buying DDR4, you can get a much better setup (FYI you can play 4k on high-ultra setting with 2 970s, and just 1440p on high-ultra with just a 980)

It will definitely be futureproofing your computer. As money doesn't seem to be an issue for you definitely go the x99 Route. If you plan to game in 4K a single 980 will not be enough, you will eventually have to go SLI. Or Buy a R9 295x2.
you can also wait for AMD's 300 series to release and check the benchmarks on how it will run in 4k.

If 4k isn't your goal then the 980 will do you good.

The psu should also be fine, but if you plan to do some extreme overclocking might I suggest getting a 80+ Gold/Platinum PSU. You'll definitely never have to upgrade again. More futureproofing for sure.
Although upgrading the PSU isn't urgent and you can do this later down the road.
