Hi there I want to connect a wd my net N750 hd dual band router to my sky home hub as I want the 5ghz band to use the remote play function on my ps4 as the 2.4ghz band is a little crowded and causing a poor connection I have tried the set up disc on my laptop but it doesn't connect to the Internet any help would be greatly appreciated

Solution
OK here goes:

First, You CANNOT get rid of your Sky Hub. It is also your DSL modem. Your WD router cannot do this function.

here is what I would do:

1) Connect to your sky hub and turn off it's wireless function so it will not conflict with the new wireless setup on the WD router. Check the Sky support page on how to do this.

2) Connect your WD router to your Sky hub with ethernet cable. Plug in on the WD via it's WAN port (single port colored differently from others, labeled "internet"), and the other end into the Sky hub on any of its ports.

3) plug your laptop into the WD router via ethernet using one of the other ports. Then run the Setup CD.

You may need to do a Factory Reset on the WD router before setting it up again...

First: reset router to factory defaults... then:

User's Manual, starting on page 68 "Using the Router as an Access Point"

You can use your My Net router as an extender or access point (AP). Extender mode can:
* Add wireless coverage to a home network without wireless coverage.
* Expand a home network’s wireless coverage.
Note: To use the router in extender mode, the router must be connected by wire to your computer.
To convert the router to extender mode:
1. Click the Advanced Settings icon and then the Admin icon.
2. Click the Device Mode tab. The LAN Connection Type displays.
3. From the Device Mode drop-down list, select ExtenderMode (wired AP). The LAN
Connection Type displays.
4. To configure LAN Connection Type, select Dynamic IP (DHCP) (default) or Static IP,
complete the required fields, and click Save. (See “” on page 53 for details.) The screen
informs you of how long the process will take. The router reboots, and the login screen
displays.
Note: The IP address of your extender is the static IP you assigned or the DHCP IP address assigned by your main router.

Ok changed this as I went thru the manual a bit more:

You only need to stay connected via ethernet cable while doing the configuration. Once you have it set up and can see wireless, you can disconnect your laptop.

Okay I have tried to connect this router in every way possible but I still can't set it up via the set up disc to even access the advanced options even when all lights on the front are all solid but it's not connecting to either the laptop or the Internet. Can you give me a step by step guide how to connect everything I have a dsl cable leading to the sky hub and I have 3 ethernet cables

You may need to do a Factory Reset on the WD router before setting it up again with the Setup CD. Instructions for this are in the User guide I referenced earlier.

You may also need to set up the WD router manually, those instructions are also in the manual.

Once you have done this, you should have wireless networking via the WD router only. Wired networking should work whether plugged into the Sky hub or the WD router.
