Which GPU GTX960 or R9 290 or R9 285 or R9 280X

I am planning to buy a new GPU. But which one do you prefer?
GTX960, R9 280X, R9 285 (or any other). My budget is about €250,00 (about $290.00)
I am going to use it for gaming.
I now have:
HD7850
8GB GEIL DRAGON RAM
FX 8320

280x is the better one of the bunch, but It may be bottlenecked

@OP, The GPU will be bottlenecked in some games, but you should be fine. I would try to get an i5, if you don't want any bottlenecks, but honestly, you should be fine

Do you think the 290 will be bottlenecked 'a lot'?
In my country (The Netherlands) the 290 is only €20 more than 280x.
Would the 290 be worth the extra €20 over the 280x?

It will only be bogged down in games such as BATTLEField, and other games that are similar.

It would only be bottleneck in CPU intensive games ( MMOs, SC2 and some other RTS's, large scale multiplayer BF4 and such).

If it was me and i could budget in the r9 290 i would do it. Whatever you do make sure you do not get a reference R9 290 though.

I agree, I would go with the 290, because if you later upgrade your CPU, you still have a very powerful GPU

I am going for the 290. XFX R9 290 4GB Black Edition Double Dissipation or Asus R9290-DC2OC-4GD5? In my country, they are both priced the same. Would it matter which one I take or not?

Go with the Asus 290 just because of legendary reliability. Also the cooler is superb

Wasn't it the Asus that uses the cooler design off their GTX 780, so it dosn't fit right and does not cool as well? Have they changed that?

The issue was where the GPU and the heatsink connect ( the issue was like one or two of the heat pipes didn't actually touch the GPU)... that picture shows nothing.

That was the 970 no? Thats why EVGA made the SSC because ppl were complaining one heatpipe never hit the diode.
