it all depends on the screen resolution. Assuming 1080p, some games that are not CPU intensive will run at high-ish settings but in games that are CPU intensive like Arma3 for example you will barely see medium settings smoothly.

I would change to an i3 for sure. it will drastically help your performance in CPU heavy games.

Resolution is the number of pixels on a screen. You've probably heard of 1080 or 720. Those are screen resolutions. 1920 x 1080 is 1080 and 1280 x 720 is 720. The resolution as a direct impact on the workload a processor (CPU) and graphics card (GPU). The higher the resolution, the more work a component will have to do.

Ok thx I have a better idea. My money I'm willing to pay is £500 if I need to pay a little bit over it isn't a problem. I'm looking to play new releases on medium to high settings. Eg farcry 4 and dying light.
