Hey everyone i need a gaming desktop and was wondering if someone could help me out. Im looking for (Preferably Intel) any desktop that can Run Arma 3 at Top, if not then nearly top, settings and looking to spend anywhere from $850-$1100 is there any prebuilds that are suggested? Or a parts list i can get a link to in order to at least have someone assemble this pc.

Would you happen to have an example build of something that would be ideal. Im mostly looking to get flawless performance with a pretty picture, But picture can be sacrificed a little. Does anyone know if this would be an ideal build to go off of? I was considering this product but im a little sketchy on prebuilds without any personal recommendations.

Arma 3 uses a horrible mess of a game engine, awfully optimised game.

CPU: If you want a overclockable CPU, get a K version and a Z97 board, if you aren't interested in overclocking, save some money and get a cheaper motherboard. I would go for a 4690K with a really decent air cooler so you can easily get high clock speeds, which Arma likes.
RAM: 8GB is fine, Arma 3 is only 32bit so cannot use much ram
GPU: You are definitely going to want more GPU power and memory than that.
Storage: You want an SSD, best thing since sliced bread.
OD/WiFi/Soundcard: Do you really need these? Most people don't need a disc drive, even if you do need one, do you not have one on the same network that you can use, laptop or something? WiFi I can see a use for, but only as a last resort. Hard wire or powerline connectors are much better. Motherboard sound is great for most peoples needs.

How about this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DFdhZL

Given your advice ill definetly remove the sound card and replace the graphics card with somethingelse. i dont want overclock only because i heard overclocking leads to a shorter PC life span is this true? and disc drive i do kind of need only because i do watch movies and only use my Flat screen as my monitor so i dont have another monitor for another pc and do not own a laptop. Also how do i ensure my PC will have an HDMI slot?

Ok i think im goin with this one. Can anyone confirm if there is any kind of issues i should be worried or look for with this setup? and can i use 2 of the same kind of cards together to obtain 16GB of ram or does it not work like that? Kinda new to this building thing if you havnt noticed yet haha

The build I posted originally is better. Much better overclock potential, better GPU, more storage, better quality PSU. I have no knowledge of that PSU, but i bet its pretty rubbish. It's only 22A on each 12v rail, pretty sure a 770 needs about 40, so you'd need both rails which is not a good sign. That cpu cooler is going to be rubbish, it's a tiny low profile cooler, why would you want one of them in that case? The ram would work fine together, but I would aim for 1866/1600 cas9 not 1333.

22a on each rail? 40 amps for a gpu? holy hell a normal home circut is 40 amps with a 100-200 amp panel! Most gpus use less then 1 amp!

Geforce I think imma go with Ur build. The only question I have is will this rig last me and should I beef up the ram, or anything else for other future high end game requirements? Also the compatibility checker states " Some Intel Z87 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs." is that something i should be worried about.

I believe the only way to tell if the board is ready for Haswell refresh CPUs is to phone up the shop you are buying it from and see if they know what BIOS the board ships with. It all depends on how old the board is as to what bios it was shipped with. You are probably better off just buying a Z97 board. Here in the UK there are some great Z87 bargains to be had at the moment, this is why I originally suggest it. Looking at the US this does not seem to be the case.

The 4690K and 970 is a great combo, should last a nice long time. I wouldn't worry about changing the RAM, 8GB is plenty and as you are using 2x4GB, you could always add 2 more sticks in the future. Do not go with 1x8GB stick, you always want at least 2 RAM modules so they run as dual channel memory which is much faster. Looking on partpicker 16gb would be $115, so depends how hard fixed you budget is.

Perhaps use the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 3 motherboard. You could also consider changing the PSU from a 550w to a 750w. This would make the PC ready for SLI (a second graphics card) if you wanted to upgrade in the future for more GPU power.

Updated build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/tCYkmG

I changed the GPU to the ASUS version, purely because it is currently £20 cheaper. Either the MSI or ASUS cards are great.

i agree with this guy arma 3 is cpu intensive game and poorly optimized so pick a good cpu like i5 4690k for overclocking and a decent gpu
