Mother Board Problems

So I bought a Sabertooth motherboard Z97 Mark 2 and I finished connecting everything in my motherboard and when I hook up a video cable the screen says that nothing is hooked up. It didn't work for an HDMI, DVI nor a VGA. Can someone tell me what's wrong?
And I have a XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card.

does the PC beep at all? All power cables are connected to Video card? Motherboard power cables all connected? RAM seated right?

Make sure the R9 290 is seated properly.

Check that the card has 1 x 8 pin PCI-e and 1 x 6 pin PCI-e connectors from the PSU connected properly for additional power.
