Strange dual monitor crashes.

I bought a PC under six months ago. Aside from a few issues with my RAID setup, I have had no problems. Before I continue, I'd like to say that I've updated all my drivers and am quite knowledgeable on the subject of computer hardware.

About a month ago, I added a second monitor to my setup.
When I extend my desktop (dual monitor setup), I have no issues. I can listen to music, watch videos, and use my computer without any issue. However, when I try to run a game with my desktop extended, both my monitors will turn black within 5 minutes of use. It doesn't matter if I'm playing a graphically intensive game like FarCry 4 on Ultra or Hotline Miami, both my monitors will turn off and I'll have to restart my computer. Keep in mind this issue does not occur when I use a single monitor setup. With a single monitor setup, I can run FarCry 4 on ultra at 60fps with no issues. No artifacts or discoloration. No overheating.

I have monitored my GPU/CPU temp in various games with a dual monitor setup leading to the screens turning off (does not exceed 85 C), checked all the connections between the PS and the hardware, and installed the latest drivers, but nothing has fixed this issue so far.

My graphics card is a R9 290X. Please help.
