I just recently built a gaming PC, and I have been having a pretty annoying issue that's gotten to the point where I have tried everything I can think of and I'm not sure what to do next. Whenever I try to play games online, (And the issue seems to be only appearing during gaming, not streaming or anything else) the game will freeze for a few seconds and the sound will lock up, but then everything will go back to normal. It happens pretty constantly and effectively makes any online game impossible to play. Other games like Assassin's Creed Unity seem to work no problem since I don't play co-op or go online. I've updated all of my drivers, and played around with settings in-game and at this point I'm clueless.

Solution
try this.
Run > cmd > ping google.com -t (It will ping to google)

Look at time = **ms

So when you felt lag, alt tab check the ping how many MS its. if its 1-150, the lag you get shouldn't bother you in game. It should be anything in hardware or software itself.
