Hello all,
I have Amped Wireless AP600EX and SR600EX transmitting over 1/8mile with static IP and keep losing signal. Weather and temperature issues seem to be problem. The SR600EX seems to be the problem and would like to keep the AP600EX. What should I use to receive the AP signal but would have more reliable performance?

I have never used that brand, I normally use engenius or ubiquiti but I assume they are similar. The most common issues are height above the ground and things in the way. You must have clear line of sight. Even at very short distance stuff like trees and bushes degrade the signal a lot.

The distance above the ground is not so important on short runs but even at 1/8 mile you need to mount both units at least 8ft above the ground and very technically it is 8ft above the tallest object in the path. This is called fresnel zone which you can research if you want to see where the 8ft number came from.

The other problem is the beam is very narrow on this type of equipment. It does not take much to move it out of alignment. If what...

The other problem is the beam is very narrow on this type of equipment. It does not take much to move it out of alignment. If what you have mounted the units to can twist or move because of sun or heat it can change the alignment. Most the device I use have signal level meters on the units so you can see if it changes.

You can do little about fog or rain all systems will degrade to a point.

All else fails use bigger antenna. ubiquiti airgrid are some of the largest I have seen.
