7970 core clock not changing when overclocking

I am running a Sapphire 7970 card and I'm trying to overclock it. However, when I change the clock it shows up on GPU-Z but when I go to the "Sensors" tab it shows it's only at 1000mhz (500mhz if no load) regardless of what the clock was set to. FurMark appears to also know what it's set to, but still says it's running at 1000mhz. The fact that the performance doesn't change at all (exact same fps) when it's running at any frequency whether it'd be 400mhz or 1200mhz shows something isn't right with the overclock. I've tried using Sapphire TRIXX, CCC, and Afterburner but nothing's working.

This is what FurMark shows @320mhz and @1020mhz:

I'm not really sure what's wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
i use sapphire trixx to oc my card. Have you got the BIOS switch set in the correct position? there is a backup bios and a normal bios switch. Also try enable overclocking in AMD catalyst.

I pressed the button and things are appearing to work now. GPU-Z still isn't working quite right, but it appears to be overclocking as expected.
