"EDIT" - So i just duplicated my monitor so it also shows up on my TV and on the TV these is none of the flickering. (If that helps anyone help me)

So i recently built a new computer and when i try to play games (So far Dragon Age Inquisition and Hand of Fate) there starts to be some horizontal lines in the screen flickering randomly. I have no idea what is causing this as when the games are not turned on the screen is literally perfect. I have done some googling and everyone says that turning on Vsync will fix this but when i go to Nvidia Control Panel and turn the Vertical Sync on it does not change anything.

I tried taking a picture of it BUT when i copy pasted the pic to Paint the screen flickering does not show up on the picture.

Anyone know what could be causing this?? As far as i know all my drivers are up to date.

GPU - Geforce 980 Galax Hall of Fame

here is a video of the problem

I had the same problem with my gtx 970 sli where red horizontal lines would go down the screen. How i fixed it was running gpu stress tests for an hour and restarting my computer a few times. if that doesn't work re install your drivers and update them. i don't think it is your monitor a temporary fix is changing the game from full screen to windowed or windowed borderless

Well i have the new XB270HU coming in about 2 weeks so we will find out.

I am pretty sure it is the monitor though considering when i use my TV for a monitor those flickering lines dont happen.

Hello, you seem to be having the same problem i'm having. Flickering horizontal red lines.
It only happens when playing on my monitor and never on the hdtv and it's also a gtx 970.
Weird.
Please let me know if the new monitor will fix the issue.

I apparently fixed this issue. I did 3 things different this time, i bought a hdmi to dvi adapter and used the dvi port, when re installing the nvidia drivers i chose to not install nvidia hd audio and i also changed colors from dynamic to full.
I'd guess either the adapter or not installing nvidia hd audio did it.

Hope this helps someone.
