I'm needing to upgrade my current rig:
CPU: i3 530
GPU: GeForce Gts450
RAM: 12GB 1333 mhz
MBD: MSI H55M-P31 (LGA1156)
HDD: 1.5 TB 7200 RPM

Thinking of upgrading to I7 860 and GeForce GTx750Ti

Will I be able to play games like Payday 2, Bioshock Infinite, Alien Isolation, Warlords of Draenor, Left 4 Dead 2?

Is my pc too old? Trying to avoid a mobo + processor purchase.

With that setup you will be able to run those games fine, as the GPU is not too bad, but not at very high fps but yes the cpu is a big upgrade and they won`t bottleneck each other at all! Go ahead!

CPU hierarchy - The i7 860 is 2 tiers above the i5 530

Just above the table it says "I don’t recommend upgrading your CPU unless the potential replacement is at least three tiers higher. "

The i7 860 is from $90 to $500 - http://www.ebay.com/sch/ctg/Intel-Core-i7-860-2-8-GHz-Quad-Core-BX80605I7860-Processor-/77557736
An i5 above the i7 will cost ~$200 eg

i5 4690 $200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116991

i5 4460 $190 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117302

So Tom's say its not worth upgrading unless you go for a $200 CPU (plus mobo and ram)
