My phone seems to be having some problems and while the phone is cheap and outdated and I will be replacing it very soon... Is there any way to tell if my MicroSD card has any problems as well so I can just buy both now instead of having to wait to get a new card later?

Solution
Sure. Use a card reader on a PC, backup the card (if you need to), format it and then try copying large files to fill it up. If the card writes all data OK and never skips a beat / hangs / freezes, this is a good indicator of a healthy card.

another 2 questions:

Do I need to reset my microSD card in my new phone or can i just put it in the new phone I just bought?

And if I'm not going to use the SIM card can i just remove it?

Too hard to tell in advance - it depends on the exact model of your phone, and there are thousands of them.

Usually you don't have to format MicroSD for new phone, but you should certainly backup it to your PC before you insert it.

In most cases, SIM card can be safely removed if you don't use it, at least on Android and iOS phones. Didn't try with my Windows Phone yet, but I suppose it's the same.
