will ddr3 800 mhz memory work in a motherboard that doesnt go down to 800 mhz?

can i put ddr3 800 mhz memory in a amd motherboard that doesnt go down to 800 mhz supported memory? such as this one...

update..if i am using dual channel memory does it matter if im using 2 800 mhz stick, wont the mobo just recognize the frequncies together as 1600? or will it not accept the 800 mhz ddr3 sticks?

Make sure your ram is ddr3 if you want to put it to one of these motherboards.
