hi. i have the r9 280 xfx DD edition as mentioned and my max temp under heavy load(while playing games) is 78-80.is this safe nad normal? stock clocks nothing changed.

Solution
Seems quite normal for an 280x they are quite power hungry. I would be worried if you were seeing 90c+.

Whats your case airflow like? Could probably bring it down a bit if you have a few fans in push/pull configuration.

thanks for replying so soon.. its non x just r9 280. i have a midi tower with one 12cm on the back top of the case and one 12cm in front. i can add a 14cm, which i will, at the side of the case. the thing is that i bought a cooler for my cpu bcs its an 8320 and the stock can't handle even browsing, jk, and the fan is facing the back of the gpu. do you think thats it matters? although i change it 2 days ago and th temps were the same before. (sorry for my english)

Ah, sorry my mistake.

I still wouldn't worry too much as those temps are not dangerous. Where do you live? Is it hot in your room?

You should see an arrow on the fan which states the air direction. Try having the front one with arrow facing inside the case and the back top one facing outside the case so you pull through the front to cool your mobo/gpu/cpu and then pull the hot waste air out of the back.

Maybe take a picture of the inside of your case so we have a better idea of how your fans are set up?
From there we might be able to make better recommendations on how we can bring your temperatures down.
