I am about to purchase Samsung 850 Evo SSD but my Asus Maximus III Formula can handle SATA II 3gb/s (http://). What can I install on my motherboard allowing me to take full advantage of the SATA III capability of the SSD? Below are the expansion slots on the motherboard:

2 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (red) support single at x16 or dual at x8 mode
1 x PCIe x16 (white) supports at x4 mode
2 x PCIe x1
2 x PCI 2.2

I wouds like some recommendations on a controller card that will give me SATA-III capability. Thanks!!!

No worries, they are great aren't they? Just popped one in for a lady who had been using a socket 775 rig, and wanted to keep XP - booted in like 15 seconds where it had been taking about 2 minutes ;)

Yes it will definitely run and it will run a lot better than my HDD but I'm still curious to know if I can get full SATA 6GB capabilities by installing a PCI (PCIe, etc) card on the mobo.

Can you or someone recommend the appropriate card I will need based on the available PCI slots that I have on my Asus Mobo?? There seems to be a lot of options available and I'm not sure which one I need to take full advantage of SATA III speeds.

I just received the SSD and installed it into the SATA-II port and it's blazing fast. So fast that I no longer have any desire to get a SATA-III PCI card or anything like that. This will hold me over until I'm ready to by a new MOBO with SATA-III capability. Thanks
