I have a deal from a friend of mine for a EVGA GTX 770 2GB VRAM,

I would like to know any love/hate relationships from GTX 770 owners.
I know these are slightly better vs the newer GTX 960s.

Thanks,
Bo.

Good cards, over priced once the 970s came out. $225 to $250 for a used 770 isn't out of line. Less if it's been used a lot, plain model, etc.

Unless you plan to game using either a surround monitor setup or a 4K monitor, 2GB DDR5 should be fine for now. However, several game developers have announced that future games will use more and more VRAM for buffering during gameplay. CoD Advanced Warfighter is one such game that can use up to 4GB of DDR5. My advice is to buy the most powerful card with the most amount of DDR VRAM that you can afford. For most, the GTX970 is the sweet spot, even with the 3.5GB VRAM issue, it's still the best bang for the buck, runs cooler and uses the least amount of power compared to anything within its price range.

Thanks for the fast replies, I have an offer from a friend for his gtx 770 for $150, He upgraded to a GTX 980. I'm thinking of putting this in my second rig. I have a GTX 970 in my primary rig at the moment. Just wondering if I should pull the trigger.
