Just built a new PC and my CPU runs very hot 95+ degrees C at 95% or so CPU load.

When I run Prime95 to perform a stress test the CPU heat goes up but the RPM of the H80i fans do remains the same at about 900rpm..

Any help? :( Cosair Link doesnt turn them up, tried putting them on 100% to test them and they are at 100% on bootup then after that they go back to 900 or so rpm :(

Help pleasee :(

Alrightyy. This seems to be an issue with Corsair Link. Give this a go, and let me know what results you get.
Open Corsair Link, Go to the options tab, then click on the devices tab. Check for updates.

Also, Can you tell me more about your specific system?

Ive had to edit the registry to get the Pump to recognise in Corsair Link. It can tell me the pump RPM I believe but I cannot change the speeds of any fan as I have tried turning them to max speed several times just to see if they would work, no luck.

Specs:
i7 4790k (not overclocked)
MSI GTX 970
Asus Z97- Pro Gamer
Corsair H80i
RM 550

you should be hitting nowhere near those temps at all on your CPU. please make sure the heatsink is properly applied, and that you have taken all plastic off the cooler. I am guessing you were using the stock thermal compound that came pre-applied on the h80i?

yeah im astounded :( its so depressing haha in guild wars 2 currently. cpu running at 66 degrees C and fans at 1900rpm which assume is 50%?

I did use the pre applied thermal compound yes, which part is the heat sink? im 99% convinced its installed perfectly as ive referred from manual to manual and online videos etc.

it works but it overheats like mad :( my room isnt hot, theres room inside my case for excellent air flow...i just dont see why it wont work...im sure if the fans operated at a high/higher rpm it would be a lot cooler

also im sitting here with an actual room fan on top, facing inwards to my system to give even extra cooling, its literally freezing everywhere and my CPU is still idling at 38 degrees C, WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING!!!!!!!!
