I have a Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2P and I've removed/unplugged everything unnecessary such as drives and peripherals.

System unused for 2 years, pretty sure it was all fine back then.

It appears to power up, the fans spin but I can't get a video signal.

I've tried:

The on board video/vga and with a dedicated graphics card/dvi, the latter of which has been tested as working. No luck.

A different tested/working PSU, no joy.

Different tested/working RAM as well as removing it altogether. Nope!

Removed/replaced the CMOS battery. Nada!

I'm going to buy a replacement on Friday if I can't get it sorted so if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

I will point out that the mobo speaker was damaged so I get no error sounds which I know is a bummer. I don't have a spare one either.

Thanks in advance!

Ps. The monitor is working fine on another system.

Whats your graphics card does it have a slot for a cable that isn't there if so you need to find a pcie or 2 pcie's depending on your graphics card also make sure your monitor cable (dvi, hdmi etc) is going to your graphics and not your mobo. This happened to me and i all i had to do was plug in 2 pcie cables and presto hope this helps :D

If the fans just keep going full blast, it's likely your motherboard. My kid had the same problem after he tried to put in a new video card he got for xmas. when you removed the battery, did you short the battery contacts with a screwdriver ? Just taking it out won't clear it for awhile, it holds a charge.

It must be ram problem.try removing the am out and rubbing the pins with eareser or any proper thing.(When i keep my PC off for weeks, a carbon layer is formed on the RAM so using a erasere it works.might this solution may help you)
