i already have a cavier green wd 2tb(7200rpm~5400rpm). but since its mainly for storage,it just isnt fast enough for me on pc i wish to replace it with a faster alternative.
now i am wondering which would be better : ssd or a hdd . i want it so that i dont expirience microstutter in games. the hdd i currently have is around 5400 rpm .

btw i did check the boot speeds on 7200 rpm drive and it seems decent enuf.
the only thing limiting my pc performance right now is my hdd. games run 40+ on ultra @1080p , but sometimes it freezes like for 0.5 sec every now and then.and thats annoying.

For a combination I would suggest this:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($99.99 @ Micro...
Your hard drive doesn't influence game performance except for loading times. Once the game is loaded it normally doesn't read anything from the hard drive anymore, except for some old or badly optimized games.
In any case, you should set a budget for this, how much are you willing to spend?

~200$
also i did read on some forums that people with wd green drives had some microstuttering issues resolved when they upgraded.

For $200 you are just about right on the money for a 500 gb SSD:

I would recommend the Crucial SSD since they offer great value and speed for the money. If you can stretch your budget a little you could go for a 500 gb SSD and a 1 tb 7200rpm harddrive. That 5400 green drive is very slow indeed, I wouldn't even bother using it anymore except for backup storage or something.

if i use the 5400 rpm drive with the ssd will i still face problems? like i will be storing only games and os on the ssd, and all media on the hdd.
