I'm going to be changing my motherboard quite soon. I've been reading up on miscellaneous sites that you aren't allowed to/not able to use the same version. Some people said that calling up Microsoft will most likely get you a new key.

I was wondering what number to call, as there are many and one mess up (AKA call to a wrong number) and you are guaranteed to have to pay (haha). Or if there is anything else that I could do, not having to purchase a new license if there are ways around it. Anything would help. I appreciate any responses. Thanks!

Windows activation is tied into the hardware in your PC. That is why when you put the OS onto another PC, it won't activate. You shouldn't have any problems with OEM activations , but if you do just click 'activate now' when windows annoys you with the popup, and choose to activate by phone, it will give you a phone number to call. If for some reason it fails, talk to a customer service rep, they will likely put it through for you.
