I'm trying to upgrade from an AMD Radeon HD 7350 1GB (integrated card) to a GeForce GTX 750 Ti SC. Here's what I'm working with:
Acer Aspire AM3450 (newegg)
500W Power Supply (newegg)
GeForce GTX 750 Ti SC (newegg)
I'm using the Acer Aspire's AMI motherboard and I've upgraded the power supply to the one linked, which should be sufficient. The GPU does not require additional power input, so that isn't the issue. When powering on the computer with the new card in, it hangs on the ACER boot selection menu while making 3 very slow beeps, then goes to a black screen.
These are the beep codes I've been able to find. There is a code for 3 short beeps, but I don't think that these beeps are short. However, it only happens when the new card is in. There are two 8 GB sticks in the motherboard and they both are in working condition. And the whole system still works with the old GPU in.
Here is a shorter list of beep codes for this specific computer, but it doesn't have 3 long beeps.
I'm at a loss for why this card doesn't work. If I can provide any information that would help diagnose the issue here, please feel free to ask.
