I have been trying to get into streaming and commentaries for quite some time now, and recently got the last odds and ends for making it possible, or so I thought. I happened to remember that I would need another HDD or SSD to house my OS and the other for my recordings. I could order a new HDD and be fine, but frankly I'd rather do with what I have currently and cross that bridge when I have to get a new HDD.
The real question: can I just partition my current drive and not see a giant loss in performance? I don't plan to record super intensive games but I would like to do an occasional Let's Play or something similar. I'm really just curious is making another partition will be okay for now.
