My current card is overheating and Im buying a new one today or tomorrow. Could you guys please recommend some options? (Im also getting some pink flash during startup and read it was due to a failing card. Probably?) My core/card temps are at 57 Celsius at rest, and pop up to 79-82 Celsius while playing a game/watching movies etc. This is overheating, yes? (Fans running loud a LOT)
Here's my info...
HP Pavilion Elite (Desktop)
AMD Phenom II XC 1090T 3.20 GH Processor
9 G Memory
64bit Windows 7 - raid capable (not using due to different hard drives.)
Current Card - ATI Radeon 5570 HD
Monitor - Using 40 inch Full HD LCD 1080p TV
My preferred budget is 250.00 dollars and under, but I would like to keep it as low as possible while getting a really noticeable improvement in my FPS for MMO games on medium graphics settings. If I have to spend up to 300.00 for something "amazing", I will. I honestly have no clue as to the difference in current market cards compared to mine. I didn't choose the parts myself, as this PC was given to me 3 years ago as a Christmas present. Because I had no involvement with choosing the parts, I'm truly at a loss and my internet research on cards is sending me in circles. I'm also curious to know if there are certain types of cards that will maximize the compatibility with my processor (you probably already know that, but I still needed to mention it I guess.)
Thank you so much for your advice, I'll check back on this thread consistently throughout the day and evening.
Rebecca
