This is an AMD build list that I may use with the recent price drops on AMD GPUs' and the increasing price on Intel CPUs'; I would appreciate like any advice on the build. Furthermore, is it possible to overclock the FX-8350 to match an i5-4460 for better performance in older games.

Completed Build:

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor for £111.49
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler for £25.70
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard for £39.59
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory for £53.00
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive for £34.45
GPU: MSI Radeon R9 290X 4GB TWIN FROZR Video Card for £269.99
Case: Fractal Design Arc Mini MicroATX Mini Tower Case for £67.37
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 750W 80+ Bronze Certified for £58.57
Optical Drive:Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer for £10.50
OS: Windows 8.1 for £74.20
Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 60Hz 24.0" Monitor for £112.98
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n for £25.74
Total Price: £883.58

This might a bit off topic, but is it worth getting a R9 290X now or wait for the R9 380X since some say the next generation AMD GPUs' might have some re-brands (like the R9 380X being a slightly better R9 290X) and the R9 390X containing all the new features.

Solution
You can wait, but I would just get a GPU now.

Also, why not intel? I agree AMD is a good brand, but in this budget, the i5 would be better.

I already have some Intel builds planned, but the prices of their CPUs' seem to increasing (they increased by about £10 for the i5-4460 from the start of 2015). I guess this build is a back up AMD build if Intel starts to skyrocket in prices, also if you remove the: OS, CPU cooler, monitor and the wireless network adapter the price is £661.45 based on PCPartPicker.

Wait, so the i5-4460 went up 10 quids since Jan 2015? I doubt it... it must be just the economy in general.

On PcPartPicker, all the Intel i5 CPUs' jumped up in price by at least £10 since the start of 2015, while the prices of other parts (AMD GPUs' and and some GTX 970s' and memory sticks) dropped in price or stayed the same. So, it seems Intel is increasing their prices for no reason.

It might be the economy. Since checking my parts' list, the price drops for the graphics cards have been compensating for the processor prices.

Might be worth getting a cheaper AMD system since I'm only going to use 1080p and overclocking might help.

the 4460 with a 280/290 is pretty strong. Will be able to play any games with decent frames. Also, if you got a 970, you will be extra happy, but you can EASILY reduce the cost by going to an AMD GPU.

+1; This is a small but powerful build for the price!

Whats up with the 650 watt PSU?
Wy not a 550?

I've seen some people post on the forum that the GTX 970 is better for 1080p and the R9 290X is better for higher resolutions due to Nvidia's ram-gate scandal. Also, the price for the two cards have dropped to the same price; it would be nice to know which one to buy for 1080p gaming for the next 3-5 years.

I do have a ITX build planned, but it has the BitFenix Prodigy as the case since it is the only ITX case that looks like it would be fun to build in.

Your build was alright, but this one has a better PSU

620W sounds like a high voltage for the build and other forum members have said EVGA and XFX do offer good power supplies.

The build I just posted was a ITX build that I considered, but my main build is an ATX or Micro-ATX platform.
